Who is Linda Kaufman?

Linda Kaufman graduated Cum Laude from Rutgers University with a B.A. in Humanities. Trained in both Music and English, she taught high school English for fifteen years while simultaneously developing a private piano teaching business.  She has been the music specialist for several Reform Temples, including the young people's music program at Temple Beth-El, San Antonio.

For the past eleven years, she has been co-director, writer and composer for the Beth-El Players, a local Jewish play production company in San Antonio that has produced shows with original award-winning scripts and scores.  She has also written scripts and music for several plays produced at the local community theatre. 

Ms. Kaufman has won two Globe Awards for Best Original Score for her music for the Beth-El Players and for her production of ESTHERELLA at the San Pedro Playhouse.  She also has a song included in Wonders and Miracles, a Passover companion recently published by Scholastic Press and compiled and written by Eric Kimmel.

Linda also writes a monthly humor column, titled Mishugas, for the San Antonio Jewish Journal.  This column is now available in a CD available through "Mishugas Live!"
